The past few weeks have had a positive impact on my self-conception as a technology leader. During my time in ITEC 7445 I learned a lot about Media and the design purposes. There is a lot more to creating and developing a website than just posting assignments. We learned the principles of ADDIE, the framework for designing an efficient and educational website with a performance task attached. My students will benefit from the knowledge I acquired during the past few weeks in the media class. I found it very rewarding and fun. I am a hands-on learner and developing the WebQuest was the most fun part of this course. Starting from the research, I needed to realize how and what I needed the students to do and make sure that I provided the tools for them to do it. I learned how to evaluate new technologies during the process and consciously look for specific skills that will be impacted by the use of this technology. I am now able to model and facilitate effectively the use of research-based best practices in instructional design when designing and developing digital tools, resources, and technology-enhanced learning experiences. I also learned how to assess new technology and implement it effectively to enhance the learning of each of my students.
I am able to facilitate the use of adaptive and assisted technology because of our field experience and the research I did during this time. Because now I can develop model and facilitate the use of online and blended learning I can coach others and facilitate the use of new technology, expand the knowledge not only of my students but the school community at large.
