3.2 Managing Digital Tools & Resources
Candidates effectively manage digital tools and resources within the context of student learning experiences. (PSC 3.2/ISTE 3b)
The Multimedia Design Project (MMDP) was created for ITEC 7445. The purpose for this artifact was to ensure a high level of student engagement while utilizing research-based best practices in instructional. My individual contribution was the design of the project by conducting research, implementing, and developing a Multimedia Project that was aligned with the standards from the PSC and the ISTE technology standards.
This artifact demonstrates mastery of this standard because this artifact was developed to integrate technology into lessons that technology might be a challenging task to implement. This artifact shows that I have managed digital tools and resources within the context of a student learning experience by purposely selecting and evaluating material on the web that is appropriate, aligned with the standards, and will enrich the task. The students conducted their research through different sources of digital media to include websites, podcasts, and Open Educational Resources.
What I learned by developing this artifact will allow me to serve as a facilitator and coach to my students while they collaborate and become independent learners. What I would do differently the next time is that I will allow the students to present their products and prove mastery of the standards through different choice of media.
The work that went into creating this artifact impacted school improvement, faculty development and student learning because I demonstrated how to manage digital tools and resources to enhance the student learning experience, this impact can be assessed by students’ surveys on their level of interest in the subjects explored in the project.
