3.5 Basic Troubleshooting
Candidates troubleshoot basic software and hardware problems common in digital learning environments. (PSC 3.5/ISTE 3e)
The Flipgrid Field Experience was created for ITEC 7430. The purpose of this artifact was to introduce teachers to the use of the Flipgrid video program and how to implement it in their lessons. My individual contribution was to become an expert on the use and troubleshoot of this program and deliver the information to the teachers.
This artifact demonstrates mastery of the standard because the artifact shows how I helped teachers and demonstrated my ability to troubleshoot, and find solutions to problems such as finding the best ways to upload video files to the internet and how to download the videos into Canvas, how to create their classes in the program and how to assist students in joining their classes online when I performed the Professional Learning session at my school.
What I learned from completing this artifact is how to assist teachers in the use of new technology and finding solutions while working on the Internet. What I would do differently to improve the quality of the artifact is to include other types of technology that are compatible with this program.
The work that went into creating this artifact impacted school improvement, faculty development and student learning because the teachers now can use this new technology to better engage their students in the use of technology. This impact can be assessed by looking at the data from the Professional Learning session of the number of teachers who have implemented this strategy in their classroom.
